We understand that your schedule is packed, and squeezing in an N95 mask fit test is probably the last thing you want to be doing.

We know what a hassle it can be to tick off all those boxes before your clinical placements. But we’re here to make your fit test as quick and hassle-free as possible.

 

​With two convenient Melbourne locations in Oakleigh and Coburg, you can get your test done and dusted in no time (well, 20 minutes).

​

​Here's how it works:

​

• Book your N95 mask fit test online. Be sure to choose the student option to get a discount. 

​

• Just bring your awesome self to the fit test. We provide you with N95 and P2 masks (and we don't charge extra for the masks like some companies do). All of our masks are on the Australian-approved list and include brands such as 3M 1870, 3M 1860, and Trident.

​

• The fit test is quick and easy. Appointments are only 20 minutes long. We'll show you how to properly put on (don) an N95 mask and do a seal check. Next, we'll attach the mask to a machine and have you do a few exercises (easy ones like moving your head from side to side and talking about the pot of gold at the end of a rainbow - no bench presses or pushups). The machine will tell us if your mask creates an adequate seal to ensure no microscopic particles are getting inside your mask.

• We aim to get you a pass in two N95/P2 respirators. Sometimes, this may not be possible and you only pass in one. But we will do our best. If you fail on one type of mask, then we just try another one. 

​

• Fit test certificates are emailed to you before you leave the fit test appointment. Easy peasy.

​

• You must be clean-shaven to wear N95 and P2 masks, including when getting a mask fit test. Mustaches and trimmed goatees are OK as long as they don't cross the seal of the mask. The Singh Thatta Beard Wrap technique is NOT approved in Victoria and many clinical placement sites will not accept this fit test.

​
